Wars and Rumors of War

Some people may have been wondering about where we are on “the Biblical Prophetic time line”. It seems to me we are close to the juncture of Jesus’ statement in Matthew 24:3-8.

Matthew 24:3-8 (KJV) (Please read the whole chapter)

3. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Context means everything, in the Holy Bible. In these verses the only thing that maybe isn’t Jewish is v. 7. In this message that we refer to as the “Olivet discourse” in Matthew 24, Jesus is speaking to His disciples about the events concerning the Jewish people. He doesn’t say anything about the gentiles except maybe verse 2, which is the destruction of the temple that happened in 70 A.D. by the Romans, when He said “one stone shall not be upon another”. Now a clear understanding of Biblical prophecy, especially Daniel, show Matthew 24 to be about the Jewish people. No where in this chapter, is the Church even eluded to. It is about what happens in and around the nation of Israel leading up to and including the time of Daniels seventieth week. A very good clue for that is His reference to Daniel and the “abomination of desolation”. Matthew 24:15 We know this happens in the middle of Daniels seventieth week.

15. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand🙂

The majority of what Jesus said in Matthew 24 is about the last days. There is the reference to the destruction of the temple in 70 A. D. but most of it is towards the “end of days”. When Jesus said these things the only Scriptural text they had was the Old Testament, the Church hadn’t even been thought of at that time. Jesus is a Jew and He was speaking to His Jewish disciples about Jewish things. Furthermore the questions they asked Him was about Jewish thought and Theology, There is one verse that may bring in someone other then the Jews and that would be Matthew 24:14

14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Now this verse may include some non-Jews preaching the gospel, or it can be seen as the 144,000 Jewish evangelist of Revelation 7. This whole chapter of Revelation 7 is about God sealing 12,000 men from each of the tribes of Israel and them being evangelist is seen by who gets saved from vv. 9-17.

If Jesus’ references of Matthew 24:14 is about the 144,000 then all of Matthew 24 is about the Jewish people (depending on how you view v. 2). The context of the 144,000 in the book of Revelation, (which is the seventieth week of Danials prophecy) is found in Dan. 9:24-26. I’m more inclined to believe it’s the 144,000 Jewish Evangelist of Revelation chapter 7. My reasoning is simple, the Church has already been taken out of the world by the “rapture” when these events happen. So God in “His Great Mercy” sends His people out to finish what He ordained the Jewish people to do in the first place. To show the world that He and He alone is the savior of all mankind.

Now the Matthew 24:6 reference of “wars and rumors of war” seems to be happening as we write this at the beginning of 2026.

6. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

As I look on the world stage, the focus seems to be on the middle east in world affairs. That being said, the world is again concentrating its attention on Israel. This aligns with Biblical Prophecy 100% for the last days. Israel is the only country that gets most of the negative attention of the U.N. To the U.N. Israel can’t do anything right, and is always criticized for protecting themselves. Israel is at this time is fighting wars on multiple fronts.

One question many people maybe asking is, will Iran be destroyed? I don’t think so, but I do know, that they will be partnered with Russia and Turkey and others to attack Israel one day soon. I really think that, that war is closer then we think, but I don’t think it’s now. I think Iran must be weakened a lot more then they have been for them to be involved in the war of Ezekiel 38 and 39 because they will want help in destroying Israel.

Was Jesus referring to this war of Ezekiel 38 and 39 when He said “wars and rumor of wars”? I do believe that this is one of the wars He was referring to, along with all the nations around Israel that are waring with each other.

Make no mistake, Ezekiel 38 and 39 is going to happen and not one country will help Israel on that day. Only God will help them and He WILL destroy every army that comes against Israel in that day. The United States stands with Israel today, but a day “is coming” when the United States will not stand with Israel, or is unable to do so.

This verse in Ezekiel 38 tells us the worlds response to this attack. Yes it is in the Bible, and this is the nations response (it doesn’t say the UN but that’s where the nations go to talk about other nations). Ezekiel uses ancient names to describe these countries. Some of them are known today by other names.

Ezekiel 38:13 (KJV) (Please read the whole chapter)

Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

So, for Israel to survive, and survive they will, God will protect His people. God gives us a very real picture of what He is going to do to these armies, please read both chapters of Ezekiel 38 and 39 to see what He is going to do and why He is doing it. Part of it is so that the nations and Israel will know that He is God. Read the chapters to see what He is going to do to them.

The Nations

23. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Israel

28. Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.

29. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.

I think that all the different countries around the world that are at war with one another in these “last days”, is what Jesus had in mind, but I think the ones that are surrounding Israel was foremost of what He was speaking to. He spoke of famine, pestilence, earthquakes, and other catastrophes, which will happen. And these are happening all around the world, with greater frequency, than has ever been seen before. But Jesus’ focus was mainly around Israel and what people do for or to the Jewish people (Matthew 25).

The disciples asked Jesus “when will these things be” His reference was about the 70th week of Daniel, which we know is the last week before the millennium. These things are going on today, but we haven’t seen them yet the way Jesus said we would. That remains to be seen by those who live at the time of Daniels seventieth week . It will be far worse than, than it is now.

Are you ready to meet God? If you’re not, please get ready, time is getting short and is running out. Ask Jesus to be your savior today and He will be, but you must ask Him. Please don’t delay time is too short. Jesus is coming very soon.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

11. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
