Bible Prophecy Explained – End Times & Biblical Insight For Today
We are fast approaching the end of the time that God has allotted for the Church age. For those that have decided to call on Jesus to save them, they will soon be called home to be with Him, which is the rapture. When that happens God will turn His attention to His chosen people, the Jews. Jeremiah, Danial, Ezekiel and other Old Testament Prophets have declared it, so it will happen just as they foretold.
Danial 9:20-27 says 70 weeks are determined for the Jewish people (v.24). The next few verses describes the break down of those seventy weeks. Which is the date to start the count down to the end of the weeks. But the anointed one is cut off after the end of the 69th week. There still remains one week left to fulfill the whole prophecy (Danial 9:24). Jesus spoke about that week in the “olivet discourse”, Matt 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 and it is the time of “Jacobs trouble” or better known as the great tribulation in Christian circles.
Some Christians like to look at those chapters and try to put the Church in there somewhere, but Jesus is speaking to the Jews about the Jews. (Please keep the context) (I have written about that in other articles)
Jesus says in Matt:24:15 that when you see the “abomination of desolation” standing in the Holy place that Danial referenced, that they should flee. Now where does Danial write about this? Daniel 9:26-27 is where we find Jesus’ reference. Jesus is actually showing us that the “great tribulation” is indeed the seventieth week of Danial. (V. 27 says “one week”) This is week number seventy of Danials prophecy and it is the dreaded “great tribulation” This will be the final week where God deals with His people the Jews, thus fulfilling Danials prophetic vision of “seventy weeks are determined on your people”.
But some will say the seventy weeks must be fulfilled concurrently. Not necessarily, I have discussed this “break” in other articles. There have been over 2 thousand years in-between Jesus being “cut off” (Dan. 9:26) and today. However as never before we are seeing all the puzzle pieces (prophecies) on the table, if you study Bible prophecy you will know what I mean.
Danial 12:4
4. But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Danial was told to seal the words of his book “until the time of the end”, which we believe is now, and knowledge would increase. That knowledge isn’t just world wide knowledge, it’s also knowledge about the Bible. No one can argue against the fact that the world is learning new things everyday. So it is with Danial 12:4 where God says seal it up “until the time of the end”. This is not some new thing, it’s been in the Bible all the time and God has chosen to open it up to us in these last days. Just like Jesus took Paul to Arabia and showed him the mystery of the Gospels in the Old Testament writings. It was there all the time, but just a few people saw it. So God reveals His word to man when the time is right.
So what is “the Time of Jacobs Trouble”? We have shown that the “great tribulation” is the time of Jacobs trouble. Lets look at it from the OT prophets view. Jeremiah 30:7 is where those specific words are found. Other prophets also mention this time, they just don’t say the words “the time of Jacobs trouble”.
Jeremiah 30:6
7. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
The time of Jacobs trouble has a starting point, we have some ideas as to when it will start, but only God really knows. Some say the rapture will start that last week count down. However what we do know is that the “man of sin” will make a “covenant” with Israel for one week and that is when it will start. (Dan. 9:27)
Persecution has already started against the Jewish people all over the world. This persecution is going to go from bad to worse. Do I like it? NO! I don’t, but I think this is what is going to cause all the Jews in the nations to move to Israel. Ezekiel 36:24 and a few other prophets have said God will bring them back to the land that He gave them. It is actually happening right now. We are seeing with our very own eyes…today, these prophecies taking place. That gives us comfort that God keeps all His promises that the prophets foretold.
The great tribulation will be a time of cleansing for the Jewish people. A time when God calls all His people to repent of their sinful ways and come back to Him and Him alone. Sad to say only one third of them will survive during that time, but God knows who loves Him.
Zechariah 13:8-9 (KJV) (Please read the whole chapter)
8. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
(Romans 11:26 Says all Israel will be saved, the third part that is alive after the great tribulation.)
We can be sure that this speaks of the great tribulation because Zechariah 13:6 is speaking of Jesus’ crucifixion. The Jews throughout history have suffered greatly, but even in the holocaust of WW2 two thirds were not executed. The holocaust was unimaginable to the human mind, but God must and will, judge His people and the whole world. Evil will be eradicated before the millennium starts. God will deal with His people and the world in complete and total justice.
We do know that evil will arise again during the millennium, but it will start with a clean slate and Jesus will rule with a rod of iron.
The future ahead of mankind is bleak if you don’t have Jesus as your savior, but you can be saved if you just ask Him to save you and you live for Him after that. The time of Jacobs trouble, or the great tribulation will be a very terrifying time. If you won’t live for Jesus today what makes you think you will then. God in 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 has this to say;
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (ESV) (Please read the whole chapter)
11. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12. in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Do you really think you will escape a strong delusion that God sends throughout the whole earth? This is judgement time for everyone that lives at that time in history. Rejecting Jesus now is placing your future of heaven in grave danger. You don’t know if you will ever have another chance to chose Jesus, so please accept Him now.
